He was predeceased by: his parents, D. L. Nelson and Ethel J. Nelson; and his brother Donald L. Nelson. He is survived by: his sons, Marvin L. Nelson (Hope) of Vicksburg and Koury A. Nelson (Gina) of Brandon; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Hope, Olivia Leigh Nelson, Danny Allen Nelson and Neely Frances Nelson; and his great grandchild Adelaide Hope Adams.
