With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John W. Starnes Jr. of Vicksburg, Mississippi, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 13, 2025 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As John departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved John. Though John may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He is survived by: his daughter Melissa; his grandchildren, Damien, Akira and Deja; his sister Betty; his brother-in-law James; his sibling's children, Chris and Karen (Brian); his great-niece Stephanie; his niece Mary (John); and his great-niece Hattie.
Visitation was held on Sunday, August 17th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Fisher-Riles Funeral Home (5000 Indiana Ave, Vicksburg, MS 39180). A memorial service was held on Sunday, August 17th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
