With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Josephine Thames of Vicksburg, Mississippi, who passed away on January 29, 2026 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Elijah Austin "E. A." and Mary Ophelia Henderson Jones; her husband Robert Thames; and her brother Charles Jones. She is survived by: her sister Kathryn Jones; her children, Christi Purvis (Robert), Sheila Mayberry (Dave), Valerie Goss and Sam Kennedy (Jessica); her grandchildren, J. T. O'Dell, Kaitlyn O'Dell, Cody Thornton, John Curtis Thornton and Gracie Knight; and her great grandchildren, Bentley Cormier, Amelia King, Krewz Thompson and Jasper Young.
In lieu of flowers, Niki requested donations be made to Madison Council on Aging in Tallulah, Louisiana, or to your favorite charity.
