He is survived by: his wife Phylis Burdine Sultan; his children, Terri Frazier (Walter), Richard Jr. (Donna) and Robbie (Mia); his grandchildren, Anna Harris (Craig), Leah Ivey (Joseph), Alex Yates (Trent), Richard III (Erin), William Burnett (Meagan), Tess Rigdon (Sebastian), Lyndsey Herrod (Holden) and Zac; his great grandchildren, Stella, Amelia Ivey, Samuel, Julia Yates, Drake, Nick Tillotson, Brantly Harris, Lucy Herrod and Grayson Rigdon; his granddaughter Rowan Rigdon; and his siblings, Sara Cowart Langston (Jim) and Julian Cowart.
