William Franklin Holifield Jr. Obituary
William Franklin "Frank" Holifield, Jr. passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2024. He was 79 years old.
Frank was born on March 8, 1946, in Hattiesburg, MS the son of William Franklin Holifield, Sr. and Tillie Thrash Holifield. He graduated Yazoo County High School in 1964, he attended Holmes Community Colledge, University of Southern Mississippi and Millsaps Colledge. He served in the United States Marine Corp. Frank had an extensive career in broadcasting having retired as the owner operator of WQBC Radio. He was an avid Golfer, outdoors man, and especially primitive turkey hunter and gardening. He was a Lay Worship leader at Christ Episcopal Church. He was involved in the Jaycee's, Christ Episcopal Church Men's Group, and the Eagle Scouts.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Betsye Holifield, daughters Heather Daumer (Gabe) and Holly DeLisle (Dave), a son William Franklin "Skip" Holifield, III, grandchildren Jarryd Smith (Allison), Haley Smith and fiancé Dalton Watts, Luke Daumer, William DeLisle, Megan Beckwith (Tylon), Nathan DeLisle, Meredith Sinclair Holifield and George Thomas Holifield, and a sister-in-laws Dawn Rankin (Dennis) and Pat Savoie (Barry).
A Celebration of life will be on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Christ Episcopal Church at 1:00 P.M. with Father Sam Godfrey officiating.
