He was predeceased by: his parents, Arther Lee Mathews of Vicksburg and Jane Toney Mathews of Vicksburg. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Hunter Mathews; his son Henry Ainsworth Hunter; his daughter-in-law Elizabeth Smith Hunter; his grandsons, Hyde Todd Hunter and Joel Edward Hunter; and his brother Tony Adams Mathews (Virginia Mathews).

I saw him a few weeks ago at his home and got his heater going. He spent many hrs. combing thru my collection and learning. He will be missed. We shared that passion for collecting. RIP William!
