She was predeceased by: her parents, George Monroe Boatwright and Mayfield Madison Boatwright; her brother Morgan Boatwright of Vicksburg; her husband William "Bill" Sanders of Kosciusko; her children, Ronald Lee Smith of Kosciusko, Mary Ann James and Mollie Mae James Barrentine of Kosciusko; and her grandson Aaron Caleb Ezra Brown of Vicksburg.

She is survived by: her daughters, Georgia McBroom (Joe) of Vicksburg, Deborah James of Port Gibson, Kathy Smith Brown and Donna Walding (Gary) of Baytown, TX; and her stepchildren, Mitzi Kent (Danny) of Vicksburg, Kevin Sanders (Kelli) of Vicksburg and Kim Landers (Kenny) of Utica. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren.
