He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Delmer (Odell Peacock Cofer) and Eva Mae Jones (James Franklin Jones); and his siblings, Sue Ellen Cofer, Annie Mae Cofer Jones and Roy Dewayne Cofer.
He is survived by: his spouse Reeda Faye Farmer; his daughters, Eva Christene Chavez (Timothy Joseph Chavez), Reeda Suzanne Cofer and Jamie Lynn Stapleton (Matthew David Stapleton III); his grandchild Jodie Nicole Alberts (Marc Anthony); and his brother Carlis Cofer. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Nicaraguan Missions Fund at First Baptist Church of Water Valley, MS.
