He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. John B. Laney (Brookie Wilson Laney) and Buddy; his siblings, Margaret Boland and Bobby Laney; his wife Charlotte Owens (Jamie Bagget Witcher); his son Chuck Laney; and his granddaughter Naomi Faith Taylor.
He is survived by: his brother Paul Laney; his children, Doug Laney (Brenda), Linda Taylor (Darryl) and Suzanne Laney; his grandchildren, Taylor Laney (Sarah Monroe), Charla Laney (Kyle Prewitt), Jacob Laney, Ema Johnson (Ethan), Sara Taylor (James Atkinson), David Taylor (Almeta), Jonathan Taylor, Joel Taylor and Chastity Benjamin; Owen, Lars Johnson, Benjamin, Taylor, Trace, Mackinzie and Sophie Benjamin. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
