He was predeceased by : his parents, Oscar Wayne and Ruby Helen Hiatt (Rennecker); his son-in-law Steven Ladner; his siblings, Bonita Sue Hiatt, Verona Ann Heinz (Elmer), Lavana Louise "Poodge" Chrislip (Clayton), Leon Ray "Red" Hiatt (Betty) and Wayne "Dutch" Hiatt (Connie); and his nephew Robert "Bob" Heinz.

He is survived by : his former life partner Mary Jane Martinez; his daughter Gina Hiatt Ladner (Hiatt); and his grandchildren, Noah Phillip of Waveland, MS and Natalie Audrie Ladner of Waveland, MS.
