He was predeceased by: his parents, James Davis "J. D." and Clara E. Hawthorne (Mixon); his daughter Tiria; and his brother James Hawthorne. He is survived by: his sons, Cedric Hawthorne (Bessie Short) of Monmouth and DeMarco Hawthorne; his siblings, Milean Davis of Georgia, Patricia Daniels (James Blackwell) of Galesburg, Annette Merriell of Lansing, Sharon Hawthorne of Galesburg, Olivia Hawthorne of Saginaw, Gwen Donaldson of Georgia, Calvin Hawthorne of Mississippi, Kelvin Hawthorne of Texas and William Hawthorne of Galesburg; his grandchildren, Alicia, Cedric, Jr., Makalya, Kelci and Laney; his great grandchildren, Tristan and Zaylen; and his sisters-in-law, Maria Hawthorne and Frances Hawthorne. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 20th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory (1849 N Seminary St, Galesburg, IL 61401). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 20th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
