He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe K. Freeman and Lillie Mae Conner Freeman; his son Rodney Freeman; his stepson Rodney Lynn Wilson; and his brothers, Fred Freeman, Alfred Freeman, Gaston Freeman, Monroe Freeman, Doyle Freeman and J. K. Freeman.
He is survived by: his wife Sarah Nell James Freeman of Waynesboro, MS; his daughter Rhoma Phillips (Mike) of Creola, AL; his stepdaughter Lisa Burch; and his sister Frances Byrd of Sylacauga, AL. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren.
