He was predeceased by: his parents, Obie Mason and Stella Mason; his daughter Tracy Mason; his brother Billy Ray Mason; and his siblings-in-law, Alex McIlwain, Jr. and Betty Rae Burgess Malley.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Mason; his children, Robby Mason (Wanda) and Kim Bunch (Keith) of Waynesboro, MS; his siblings, Charlie Mason (Janice) of Buckatunna, MS, Ronnie Mason (Melissa) of Waynesboro, MS, Dora Ross, Debbie McIlwain and Paula Trigg (Randy); his sister-in-law Hazel Mason of Waynesboro, MS; and his grandchildren, James West (Hope), Jeremy West, Hunter Bunch, Brody Bunch, Kristen Meadows (Ryan), Kalli Wardrop (Shayn), Maggie Mason, Abigale Mason and Makenna Mason. He is also survived by five great grandchildren.
