He is survived by: his children, Burnette Avakian, Mark G. Buchanan (Donna) and Robin Portera (Frank); and his grandchildren, Grace Alexander (Josh), Foster (Ashley), Elizabeth Skrobialowski (Adam), Lydia Gliniak (Brian), Ragan Foster and Tad Merchant (Emily). He is also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren.
