He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Roosevelt and Gertrude Thomas; his father-in-law James W. Knox; his aunt Hattie Will Humphries; his uncles, Roosevelt Thomas Jr., Ezell Thomas and Melvin Comer; and his brother Marcus Holland.

He is survived by: his father Joe Holland, Jr. (Mary); his mother-in-law Teretha Knox; his wife Kahla Thomas; his children, Jamesha Tolliver, Daryl Thomas Jr. (Teneisha) and Dason Thomas (Marquita); his siblings, Yolanda McCauley (Chicago), Brandon Hill (Peoria), Shindel Holland (Aurora), Derek Holland (Aurora), Monica Holland (Aurora), Mario Price (Arlington), Brigzette Holland (San Antonio), Bashyra Holland (Killeen), Grace Thomas, Minnie Comer, Mattie Hampton (David), Gertrude Davenport (Wavie) and Joan Caldwell; and his grandchildren, Chloe, Carter, Draylan, Xaiden, Kaisen and Ava. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
