Johanna Rice Obituary
We are sad to announce that on October 19, 2025, at the age of 74, Johanna Rice (West Point, Mississippi) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Johanna may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Johanna touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Edwin Cromwell Rice and Sally Will Crawford Rice; her husband Mike Goree; her brother Ed Rice; her nephew Sam Rice (Rebecca); and her great-nephew River.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Robinson Funeral Home (869 E Broad St, West Point, MS 39773). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In place of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Mississippi ACLU in her honor.
