He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Kenneth Byrd and Jane Byrd; his children, Chris Byrd (Chelsea) and Beth Byrd; his stepdaughter Rachel Johnson; his grandchildren, Justin, Zackery and Ronnie Kay Byrd; his siblings, Carolyn Golson (Tim) and Ken Byrd (Dawn); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Amber Jacobs (Robert), Gretchen Purtee (Chris), Alexis Byrd, Ashley Howell (Nate), Mary Beth Anderson (Magers) and Lacie Pumphrey (Wyatt); and his daughter Keri Byrd.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Siloam Methodist Church (1941 MS-47, West Point, MS 39773). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
