He was predeceased by: his parents, Colin Simmons and Essie Simmons (Dennis); his wife Cora Simmons; his sons, Thomas Simmons and Bertran Simmons, Jr.; his grandson Michael Galen Simmons; and his siblings, Ed, Mike, Colin, Tom, Billy Simmons, Essie Gardner, Lillian Torbert, Jannie Brown and Bernice Griffen.
He is survived by: his children, Barbara Simmons, Anthony Simmons, Vincent (Roslyn Simmons) and Conan (Renee Simmons). He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family.
