She was predeceased by : her parents, Claudie Seal and Mattie Seal. She is survived by : her husband Charles Mitchell; her children, Alton Mitchell, Vernon C. Mitchell (Sandy Barron), Alan Mitchell, Kathy Morgan (Rodney) and Jessica Lee (Stephen); and her sister Margaret Johnson. She is also survived by nine grandchildren.
