He was predeceased by: his parents, Hubert Leon Alexander and Flora Gene Breland; his stepfather Bennie Ray Breland; and his sister Kathryn Clyde Miller (Percy). He is survived by: his wife Patricia Carolyn Rowell Alexander; his brother Leon Eugene Alexander (Wynell); his children, Laura Gene Owen (Steve) and Albert Wynnfield Alexander Jr. (Stefani); his grandchildren, Christa Hataway (Cam), Beth Case (Tripp), Aca Alexander (Emily), A. J. Alexander and Aubry Alexander; and his great grandchildren, Fox Alexander and Hayes Alexander. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends.
He became one of the originators of the Foundation for Better Education, creating numerous scholarships for students, and was the founder of the Stone-Wiggins Recreation Association.
