He was predeceased by : his father Rev. Alton Rufus Carpenter. He is survived by : his son Anthony Carpenter of Winona; his mother Mary Jane McCorkle of Winona; his siblings, Angela Bailey of Winona and Hank Carpenter of Winona; his nieces, Shelby Hunt and Brianna Bailey; his nephew Andrew Carpenter; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Bailey Hunt, Elizabeth Carpenter, Nora Lynn Hunt, Shane Bailey and Harlan Carpenter.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Scotland Baptist Church, 725 Scotland Rd, Winona, MS 38967.
