It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Annie Rene Carter Armstrong of Winona, Mississippi, who passed away on January 18, 2026, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Carter and Alma Devine Carter; her husband Earnest LaVerne; her children, Janie Armstrong Ansley, Dennis Roan Armstrong and Earnest Lamar (Armstrong); her grandson Kenneth Ansley; her great great grandchild Mary Blair Sparks; and her siblings, Wilma Jean Carter, Katherine Morehead and Melvin Carter.
She is survived by: her children, Brenda Ladner of Winona, Mike Armstrong of Grenada and Jeff Armstrong of Winona. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
