He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles "Bud" Oberly and Ellen Davis Oberly; and his brother David. He is survived by: his son Richard; his close friends, Chuck and Nan Heckart; his friend Chet Faust; his wife Beccy; his son Charles (Amber); his grandchildren, Emmy and Anson of Big Timber; his daughter Ellen (Tony); his grandchildren, Annica and Juliana of Kent, WA; his daughter Elizabeth (Eon); his grandchildren, Makenna and Taylin of Big Timber, MT; his brother Richard Oberly (Betsy); his nieces and nephews, Susannah of Ithaca, NY, David, Jr. and Josh Oberly of Bozeman, MT; his aunt Edith Exley of Bethlehem, PA; and his daughter Danielle Hanson Strain of Johnstown, CO.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Thompson Ranch (128 Thompson Ln, Big Timber, MT 59011). Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Mountain View Cemetery.
