He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Don, Judy Zimmerman and Verlin Hansen; his stepgrandfather Mathias Prom; and his uncle Ron Zimmerman.

He is survived by: his parents, Greg Zimmerman and Mary Zimmerman (Hansen); his brother Josh of Billings; his grandmother Lynn Prom (Hansen) of Fargo, ND; his uncle Tim Hansen of Houston, TX; and his aunts, Deb Beck (Bruce) of Lexington, KY, Patty Johnson (Jon) and Wadena.
