She was predeceased by: her parents, William Jacob Durling and Flora Evelyn Hearn Durling; her sister Mary Jeanette Durling; and her daughter-in-law Judi Highland. She is survived by: her husband Richard William Highland; her sister Susanne Hearn Durling of Tucson; her children, Joanie Highland McNiece (Michael) of Fountain, Glenn Highland of Corona de, Carol Highland-Fritz (Larry) of Billings and Bruce Highland of Maui, Hawaii; her grandchildren, Shannon McNiece Whetstone (Jesse), Blaine Fritz, Evan Fritz, Nathan Fritz (Melodi Anahtar), Kristian C. McNiece and Caroline McNiece Owens (Jayk); her great grandchildren, Annie McNiece, Maggio Whetstone and Asha Owens; and her sibling's children, Paul, John, Stephen Fixx and Betsy Gumina.
