He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Larry Thompson and Helen Thompson; his wife Judy Thompson; his children, Brent Looper, Larry Thompson, Richard Thompson and Belinda Hamilton; and his siblings, Monte Thompson, Korre Thompson, Lorrinda Lea, Lana Lukas and Melissa Botelho. He was also cherished by 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 1 great -great grandchild.
