With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Jason Allen Olson of Billings, Montana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 26, 2025 at the age of 59. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his sisters, Michella and Melinda Olson; his grandparents, Walter Sr., Hattie Piehl (DeVries), Henry and Violet Olson (Bruhn); his uncle David Gene Olson; his aunt Bonnie Gail Wieck (Olson); his parents-in-law, Elgin and Jeannette Mortenson (Wolla); his brothers-in-law, Clyde Mortenson and Dale Swensrud; his nephew Garret Swensrud; his great-nephew Tyler Swensrud; and also Eli Garret Swensrud.
He is survived by: his parents, Allen Olson and Fern Olson (Piehl) of Minot, ND; his wife Tori Ellen Mortenson; his daughter Bailey Morgan Olson (Brendan Smith) of Billings, MT; his granddaughter Harlee Rayne Olson of Billings, MT.; his siblings, Melissa Olson (Mike Dyer) of Gilbert, AZ and Jarrod Olson (Missy) of Minot, ND; his niece Madeline Mae Olson (Preston Jones) of Minot, ND; his uncles, Walter Jr. Piehl (Becky) of Minot, ND, Steven Piehl (Valerie) of Newbury Park, CA and Gary Wieck of Valley City, ND; his aunt Lois Olson of Monongah, WV; and his siblings-in-law, Valerie Swensrud of Watford City, ND, Lynette Wheeler (Tom) of Ray, ND, Wesley Mortenson (Sharon) and Todd Mortenson (Kathy) of Tioga, ND.
A vigil service will be held on Sunday, August 3rd 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Heights Family Funeral Home & Crematory (733 W Wicks Ln, Billings, MT 59105). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, August 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Emmanuel Baptist Church (328 Shiloh Rd, Billings, MT 59106).
The family would prefer memorials to the Frontier Cancer Center (1315 Golden Valley Circle, Billings, MT 59102).
