He was predeceased by: his mother Elizabeth Koch Schleder; his sister Irene Messer; his brother-in-law Phil Messer; his parents-in-law, Jack and Borghild Clark; his son-in-law Richard Bertrand; and his granddaughter-in-law Kelli McCaffree.
He is survived by: his wife Jackie; his daughters, Kathleen Bertrand, Lorraine Schleder, Dianne Hodges (Ted) and Lisa Schleder-Kirkpatrick (Don); and his grandchildren, Brandon Bertrand, Steven Bertrand, Lynn Conley, Dean McCaffree, Randi Selle, Brian McCaffree, Clay McCaffree, Jesse Hodges, Anna Hodges and Chase Kirkpatrick. He is also survived by sixteen great grandchildren; and three great -great grandchildren.
