He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Hoover and Hattie Rowe Hoover. He is survived by: his wife Judy Cohen; his stepchildren, Kimberly Alvarez and David Bennett; and his stepgrandchildren, Jared and Rachel Alvarez. He is also survived by his daughter, several grandchildren.
