We announce the death of Stella Ziegler of Billings, Montana, who passed away on June 17, 2026, at the age of 87. Stella will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Patrick Marapese and Antoinette Marapese (Madalena); her husband James "Ziggy" Ziegler; and her son John. She is survived by: her brother Kenneth Marapese of Long Beach, California; her children, Judith McGrath (Morgan) of Armonk, James Jr. Ziegler (Susan) of Laurel, Montana, Jerome Ziegler (Susanna) of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Joel Ziegler (Donna) of Scottsdale, Arizona and Jacquelyn Ziegler of Independence, Oregon.; her grandchildren, Sarah, Morgan Jr. (Grace), Alicia (Nate), Stella Jean, Amanda, Shandy, Justin, Ashley (Morgan), Morgan (Austin), Sophia and Alecsander; and her great grandchildren, James, Keilah, Izabella, John and Draco.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ziggy and Stella Ziegler Scholarship Fund at Billings Catholic Schools Foundation, Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch Foundation, the Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter or a charity of your choice.
