He was predeceased by : his parents, Christina Heupel (Hoffman) and Phillip Heupel; his wife Maggie (Magdalena Mathern) Heupel, his siblings, Ervin Heupel (Avis), Esther Suiter (Robert), Ella Harvey (Heupel) and Frances Lacher (Filip); and his daughter Darcie Heupel.

He is survived by : his children, Darrell Heupel (Jamie) and Denise Vogel (Michael); his grandchildren, Michelle Leschak (Noah), Heather Link, Robert Lee Heupel and Amber Woods (Willis III); his great grandchildren, Asher, Jace Leschak, Harper Link, Willis Woods IV and Evelyn Woods; and his sister Ruth Heupel (Walter).
