It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Matthew Charles Gilbert of Black Eagle, Montana, who passed away on August 25, 2025, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Dean Gilbert and Irene Gilbert. He is survived by: his significant other Debbie Gilbert; his brothers, Greg Gilbert (Tracy) and Steve Gilbert; his stepdaughters, Betsy McGiboney Miller (Matt), Sarah Lacey (John) and Anna Mundale Claycomb (Michael); his siblings' children, JD Gilbert (Andrea), Brandi Voss (Travis), Penny Raines (Gary) and Missy Strickland; and his stepgrandchildren, Riley McGiboney (Katie), Madison Garcia (Dan), Avery McGiboney, Jake Lacey, Lauren Lacey and Camden Claycomb. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Black Eagle Community Center (2332 Smelter Ave, Black Eagle, MT 59414).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Matt by spending time in the outdoors he so loved or by sharing a story in his memory.
