He was predeceased by: his siblings, Jimmy Chance and Marilyn Jahn. He is survived by: his parents, Virgil Chance and Gladys Chance (Abbott) of Wisconsin; his wife Shirley; his daughters, Rebecca Schauf (Joe) of Montana and Allyson Chance (Benjamin Gladwin) of California; his grandchildren, Neve Alexander (Luis) of California, Dylan Alexander (Kara) of Montana and Autumn Schauf of Montana; his sister Linda Klosiewski (Larry) of Wisconsin; and his nephew Joseph Jahn (Katie) of Wisconsin. He is also survived by family members and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Life Church (502 Jackson St, Boulder, MT 59632).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Mayfly Project (https://themayflyproject.com), a 501 (c)(3) organization, that uses fly fishing as a catalyst to mentor children in foster care.
