We announce the death of Dorothy Mae Swift of Bozeman, Montana, who passed away on October 25, 2026, at the age of 95. Dorothy will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Dorothy will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Dorothy will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Dorothy’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Egger and Wyvle Egger; her husband Ted Swift; her daughter Nancy Swift Nickel; her granddaughter Lindsey Nickel; and her sisters, Helen Robison and Mary Jo Ritchey.
She is survived by: her sister Shirley Mathews of Bozeman, Montana; and her children, Joni Westfall (Mike) and Jeff Swift (Angelika) of Winchester, Virginia. She is also survived by five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Lewistown United Methodist Church (512 W Broadway St, Lewistown, MT 59457).
