He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Hurtgen and Berdetta Hurtgen; his sister Mary Niemuth (Jim); his niece Julie Sipple; and his parents-in-law, Hilary Statz (Celine), Elaine Ziegler (Leonard), Sylvester Statz, Betty Endres (Joseph), Judine Wood (Bill) and David Statz (Darlene).
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Statz; his brother Donald "Mike" Hurtgen (Sharon); his nieces and nephews, Joanne Frey, Kris Moen (Matt), Kathie Hurtgen (Haydin), Jim Amelong (Kristi), DJ Niemuth (Christi) and Erik Hurtgen (Julie); his fathers-in-law, Victor Statz (Shirley), Robert Statz (Henrietta), John Statz (Bambi), Ronald Statz (Cheryl) and Kenneth Statz (Joyce); and his friend Amusement Route. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, other family and friends.
