He was predeceased by: his parents, John Chaffer and Virginia Chaffer (Washburn). He is survived by: his wife Barbara McConville; his son John Steven Chaffer (Katherine Stohr); and his stepchildren, Laura McConville Grier and Brian McConville (Nicole). He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 5th 2025 from 9:45 AM to 10:45 AM at the Dahl Funeral & Cremation Service (300 Highland Blvd, Bozeman, MT 59715).
