She was predeceased by : her mother Catherine Frank (Hegel); her husband Gerry Hovland; her brothers, Eugene Frank and Boniface Frank; her brother-in-law Victor Smiley; and her niece Sandra Smiley.

She is survived by : her former life partner Merlyn Gunsch; her stepchildren, Ingrid Jungen (Darryl), Anna Bresnahan (Sean) and Jed Hovland (LuAnna); her sister Dorothy Smiley; her sisters-in-law, LaVerne Frank, Liz Lund (Ron), Lonna Wishon and Linda Renner; her grandchildren, Tony, Stephanie (Brandon), Reece, Courtney (Chad), Bridger (Johna), Madison, Nick, Hunter, Abby, Sarah (Larsen), Kieran, Ella, Bethany, Tucker, Braelynn, Brantley, Audrey, Blaiz and Maggie; and her nieces and nephews, Lori, Paula (Corey), Sarah (Aaron), Dan (Anita), Merle (Lea), Michael (Michelle), Tim (Melissa), Jeff (April) and Zach. She is also survived by her 4 children and their spouses.
