He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Matilde Soto Macdonald (John) and George J. Purcell (Dorothy); and his father William J. Purcell. He is survived by: his wife Dee Purcell; his mother Joyce I. Purcell; his brother Joe Purcell; his nephew Brian Purcell (Bethany); his great-niece Hadley (Shawn Purcell); his brother Troy Purcell (Krista); his niece Brooklyn; his grandchildren, Avery, Briar, Emerson and James Morgan; Nolan, Meghan, Brad Frazee (Kim Kearney) and Juli Rognlie (Matt). He is also survived by numerous cousins and countless friends.

Memorials in Rick Purcell's name may be made to the Rick Purcell Scholarship fund, in care of Joyce Purcell.
