He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret Parkins and Sanford Parkins; his brother Everett; and his stepsons, Nicholas and Christopher Howell.

He is survived by: his wife Patricia (Pat); his daughters, Diane Degenkolb (Steve) and Debbie Masiak of Indiana; and his brother-in-law William Goodin (Janeen) of Marseilles, IL.. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; two older sisters.
