He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Carl Brunner and Verena Brunner (Asmus); his wife Nora Bellows; his stepdaughters, Jann Gallier, Marcy Larson, Vicki Walton and Rhonda Larson; and his siblings, Judith Phillips, Virginia Wallace, Janet Conners and Michael Brunner. He was also cherished by "Papa", his five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
