Shad Barney Obituary
With sadness, we share the passing of Shad Barney (Bozeman, Montana). Shad, born on November 29, 1953, passed away on August 26, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Milton "Milt" Freeland and Betty Freeland; her birth mother Rose Leach; her brother Ron Hash; and her significant other Jeff Pocha.
She is survived by: her son Jesse (Gwynne); her grandchildren, Elias, Saana, Athalia and Gabriel; her daughter Danita (Mic Lee); her grandson Colton; her siblings, Vickie Lutz, Donna Luther (Steve), Darrell Freeland, Myrna Williams and Bartz Englishoe; Selah Robinson. She is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Kountry Korner Cafe (81820 Gallatin Rd, Bozeman, MT 59718).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Ellen for its continued care and restoration to honor Shad.
