He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert and Helen; and his sisters, Nancy Harris and Mary Yapel. He is survived by: his children, Bob, Martin Carlson (Jayme) of Helena Montana, Julie Petrusha (Bob) of Aurora and Patty Johnston (Bob) of Butte; his wife Sally; his siblings, Danny Carlson (Becky), Janet Erchul (Gary), Elizabeth Pearson, Marcy Trembath (Tom) and Diane Dennis (Paul); and his great grandchild Hunter Robert Meskill. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Gold Hill Lutheran Church (934 Placer St, Butte, MT 59701). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 11:30 AM at the same location. A reception will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 1:30 PM at the same location.

Memorials may be made to Gold Hill Lutheran Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
