He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret McLean (Tracy) and Charles "Bubs" McLean; his brother Charles McLean; and his uncle Tim Tracy. He is survived by: his wife Arlene O'Brien McLean; his brothers, Edward McLean (Sandy) of Missoula, MT and Tracy McLean (Michaeleen) of Anaconda, MT.; his children, Timothy McLean (Kimber), Tracy McLean (Kathi), Stephen McLean (Kathy), Veronica Klinefelt (Randy) and Susan Peters (John); and his grandchildren, Brandy Ahmed (Ryan), Michael Klinefelt, Emily Klinefelt, Charlie Klinefelt, Heather Peters, Joshua Peters, William Peters (Kharas), Kandace Ashline (Tyler), Marcus McLean, Lisa McLean and Abigail McLean. He is also survived by his twelve great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
