He is survived by: his daughters, Tracy Sandry (Dave) and Tari Broderick (Randy); his grandson Richmond Paschall (Liz); his great grandchildren, Magnolia and Violet; his sisters, Paula Ekle and Mary Lou Hoover; and his sister-in-law Cathie Woltermann. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and cousins.
The Wright Brothers "Master Pilot" Award was presented to Gary on October 28, 2015, "In recognition of your contributions to building and maintaining the safest aviation system in the world, through practicing and promoting safe aircraft flight operations for 50 consecutive years.".
