He was predeceased by: his parents, John Orville Dooling and Dorothea Matthews Dooling; and his siblings, Janet Bertino, Mary Ann Troedsson, Catherine Dooling and Thomas Dooling.

He is survived by: his wife Gail; his son Tom of Lima; his stepsons, Jess and Dennis Kirkpatrick; and his sister Ellen Raynard.
