Richard Hartwell Johnson Obituary
We are sad to announce that on May 23, 2025, at the age of 102, Richard Hartwell Johnson of Florence, Montana passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Richard departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Richard may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Richard leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his wife LaVone G.; his son Stuart D. Johnson; his parents, Hartwell P. Johnson and Cora M. Johnson; and his siblings, Robert K. Johnson and Shirley M. Gee.
He is survived by: his daughters, Gwendolyn S. Kaegy of Leesburg, VA and Kristen K. Johnson (Trout Creek); and his stepsons, Scott Laisy (Missoula) and Paul Laisy (Polson). He is also survived by three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
