He was predeceased by: his parents, John Ferda and Evelyn Ferda; his wife Jenny; his siblings, Larry Ferda and Joanne Mitchell; and his stepson Robert Chapman.

He is survived by: his brother George Ferda (Victoria) of Florida; his significant other Barb Bessler; his stepson Tim Chapman (Wendy) of Washington; his children, Cindy Farwick of Fort Benton and Terry Ferda of Great Falls; and his grandchildren, Brandon Farwick (Shayla Moss) of Fort Benton, Brady Farwick (Deanna) of Fort Benton, Danyell Ferda (Jacob Nicholson) of Bozeman and Ben Chapman (Jesse) of Washington. He is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren.
