He was predeceased by: his wife Ilene Haferman (Ulmer); his stepdaughter Vicki Webb; his parent Hilda Haferman Bertel (Umland); and his siblings, Don Haferman and Ella Bowman.

He is survived by: his son Larry Haferman; his daughter-in-law Susan Carstensen of Bozeman; and his grandchildren, Eric and Tara Haferman.
