He is survived by : his parents, David Shane and Shirley Shane; his wife Rachel Pachek; his children, Maggie Spicher (Cooper), Annie Shane and David Shane; his sisters, Tara Estes (Larry Robinson), Darci Shane and Karel Shane; and his grandchildren, Daniel, Janie and Beau. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Mass was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the University of Providence Library (1415 20th St S, Great Falls, MT 59405). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Cascade Conservation District (3615 29th St SW, Great Falls, MT 59404). A reception was held on Sunday, April 21st 2024 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Pit Stop.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be sent to the Cascade Conservation District to contribute to the Marc Shane Educational Scholarship.
