She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Dykstra and Delta Mae Dykstra (Parrish); her husband Paul Melvin Gerald Gardner; her daughter Ruby Ann; her daughter-in-law Martha Gardner; her siblings, Claude (Ann), Dirk, David (Erlice), Allen, Gladys, Clara, Julia Hamilton (Marvin), June Mercer (William), Delta Smith (Ken) and Cathy Sandon (Armand); and her sister-in-law Joan Dykstra.
She is survived by: her child Mertie; her foster children, Paul and Mertie; her children, Gerald (Wendy), David, Neil (Tabatha), Arlene, Ruth Benjamin (Darrel), ElaRae Wilkes (Tony) and Elsie; her brothers, Martin (Marie), Ted Sr. and Lee (Gracie); and her sisters-in-law, Nettie Dykstra and Karen Dykstra. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
